The National Natural Science Foundation of China released the final results of its 2018 funding list, with 10 research projects from Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University selected to receive funds.

Of the 10 projects selected for NSFC funding during the 2018 application term, three are listed under General Programmes and seven under Young Scientists Fund according to the NSFC's categories.

“The researchers who received these funds are all experienced in teaching and research, and graduated from renowned universities across the world,” said Professor Eng Gee Lim, dean for research and graduate studies at XJTLU.

“Their projects cover various research fields including internet of things, environmental science, economy and finance, management science, and other global cutting-edge topics,” he said.

In addition, XJTLU is receiving funding for a research project from the Humanities and Social Science Programme of the Ministry of Education.

Nineteen other projects are receiving funding from the Jiangsu Science and Technology Programme, Jiangsu University Natural Science Research Programme, Suzhou Science and Technology Programme, Suzhou Social Science Planning Programme (Applied Strategies), Suzhou Association of Science and Technology (Soft-Science Research Programme) and the Suzhou Science and Technology Development Planning Project (Soft-Science Research Project).

“These new research grants show that our University is building on previous years' work in terms of research quality and variety of areas covered,” said Professor Lim.
