On July 30th, the School of Mathematics and Physics held a graduation reception in front of the Mathematics Building for undergraduate majoring in Applied Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Financial Mathematics,and doctoral students. The event celebrated the successful completion of their studies by the Class of 2024 and marked the beginning of their new life journey.
The Associate Vice President of Research and Impact, and the Dean of the School of Mathematics and Physics, Professor Fei Ma, delivered the opening speech at the reception. On behalf of the School of Mathematics and Physics, he extended his congratulations to the students who have successfully graduated and expressed his sincere expectations for the graduates:
"I am proud of all that you have accomplished, and I hope this will serve as a stepping stone to your next stage in life, continuing your brilliant achievements. No matter where you are or what you encounter in the future, always remember that your university is always here, and the School of Mathematics and Physics is always here, ready to welcome you back at any time."
At the reception, students and teachers took group photos in front of the name backdrop to commemorate the moment and engaged in conversations about the future. There were also entertainment activities such as a souvenir lottery draw and fishing by the pool, adding much joy to the hot summer day.
