It is with immense pride that our School of Science (SCI) wishes to congratulate seven (7) of our close friends and colleagues (Table below), who have been awarded prestigious National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) research grants. Individual stories on each award winner will follow soon.
This remarkable achievement accounts for 25% of the total NSFC awards made to XJTLU (7/28) and represents an impressive 34% of the total funding received (3.93M/11.6M). SCI wishes to give a particular note of acknowledgement to Professor Li Yang, the Associate Dean of Research and Impact for her leadership in helping establish new heights/standards for our research achievements, Professor Eben Goodale, Acting HoD, HES for his leadership and major award, our colleagues from HES for winning 6 out of the 7 awards and our colleague in BIO.
SCI NSFC Awarded Project/Grant
Eben Bowditch Goodale:Investigating how species diversity affects interspecific information flow in mixed-species bird flocks and mobbing aggregations
Zheng Chen:Study on the micro-interface linkage process of methane emission from rice fields and model verification
Bailiang Li:Study on the influence of atmospheric thermodynamic stratification on the formation and spatiotemporal evolution of wind-sand flow
Weiwei Dai:The mechanism of ammonia accumulation promotes liver cancer progression via calcium channel-mTORC2-SREBP1-lipogenesis dependent manner
Wanxin Li:Study on the mechanism of action of active nitrogen species on the degradation of new pollutants and the formation of disinfection by-products in breakpoint chlorination
Juan Li:Study on the optimization of conservation agent species based on big data and multi-criteria decision-making framework: A case study of Sanjiangyuan National Park
Securing NSFC grants irrespective of the category is a highly competitive and rigorous process. These awards highlight the high caliber of the research conducted within our SCI faculty and the profound impact our research work has on advancing scientific knowledge, contributing to societal progress and making XJTLU a global leader. The success of the SCI award winners reflects our collective commitment to excellence and our relentless pursuit of groundbreaking discoveries in our respective fields of discipline at XJTLU.SCI would like to extend its deepest gratitude to Professor Zhoulin Ruan, Vice President Academic Affairs, XJTLU and Professor Fei Ma, Associate Vice President Research and Impact, XJTLU for their continuous and kindest support.
The SCI community is looking forward to witnessing the productive research outcomes that will undoubtedly emerge from these amazing researchers and their funded grants.Additionally, SCI would like to issue a note of encouragement to all the colleagues who submitted grants and were not funded this time. Please do not get discouraged, keep on working hard, believe in yourself, know you have our support and your time will come soon. Our warm congratulations once again to the scholarly community within SCI and XJTLU!
