We are beyond excited to announce an innovative initiative that is propelling student learning to new global heights!
Taylor's University (TU), School of Biosciences, Malaysia and Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), School of Science, Department of Biosciences and Bioinformatics, China have joined forces to create an interactive virtual global classroom, uniting students from both universities to explore the captivating world of cell culture applications.
Uniting Bright Minds Across Continents
In this program, students from Cell Biology Techniques at XJTLU and Animal Biotechnology at TU have been grouped together to engage in dynamic lectures, lively discussions, and collaborative presentations. These synchronous online sessions are orchestrated by our world leading educators from both Universities: Dr. Antony Kam (XJTLU), Dr. Lee Wei Lim (XJTLU), Dr. Justin Fendos (XJTLU), and Dr. Wei Hsum Yap (TU).
This initiative aims to amplify academic knowledge and spark cross-cultural understanding by fostering global collaboration. Students are exposed and learn cutting-edge scientific techniques and also build scientific bridges between diverse cultures and scholarly perspectives.
Voices from Our Global Classroom
"I absolutely loved the interactive sessions with students from Taylor's University! Engaging with peers from another country opened my eyes to new ideas and approaches in cell culture applications." – Student from Department of Biosciences and Bioinformatics, XJTLU
Shaping the Future Together
We are thrilled to continue this collaboration with Taylor's University in Malaysia, offering our students a unique and enriching learning experience that prepares them for success in a globalized world. And that's not all! Both universities are proud to offer the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF), a student mobility program for research activities. This incredible opportunity allows students to work together on groundbreaking research projects, gaining hands-on experience and forging international connections.
Stay Tuned for More Exciting Updates!
Professor John Moraros, School of Science, XJTLU stated: “This is just the beginning of our exhilarating journey in reshaping education and transforming research on a global scale. Inspired by our President, Professor Youmin Xi and supported by our Provost, Professor Zhoulin Ruan, XJTLU, we are proud to be pioneers and leaders in this global classroom movement. We cannot wait to share more exciting developments and engage more of our students in these creative and rewarding experiences soon. Our many thanks to our Dr. Phelim Yong Voon Chen, Dr. Wei Hsum Yap and the rest of our wonderful partners at Taylors University in Malaysia.”
Keep an eye out for further updates on this exciting initiative as we continue to empower our students and redefine the possibilities of international collaboration at XJTLU.
