Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) has been awarded the Most Dynamic Case in the 2025 Global Showcase for International Chinese Language Day with its themed celebration A Gift Across Time: Suzhou Elegance in Youth. The event highlighted the richness of Suzhou’s cultural heritage while creatively exploring the power of language and youth.
The event was co-organised by Suzhou Dushu Lake Universities and Colleges Development Union, the Communist Youth League Working Committee of Suzhou Dushu Lake Science and Education Innovation District, and XJTLU. It was hosted by XJTLU’s Global Cultures and Languages Hub and Arts Centre, and supported by the Suzhou Industrial Park Public Culture Centre.
The celebration events featured diverse activities such as a Chinese Song Contest, master workshops on intangible cultural heritage, and a student-run traditional arts fair. Cultural elements like woodblock printing, blue calico dyeing, egg carving, Dalianxiang folk dance, and Jiangnan instruments—were integrated, creating a vibrant and immersive cultural experience.
