IBSS Faculty and Students Attend 10th MSI 2026 and Win Awards

From 10 to 12 April 2026, the 10th International Conference on Marketing Science and Innovation (MSI 2026) was held at China University of Mining and Technology. A delegation of nine academic staff members and students from the Department of Intelligent Operations and Marketing at International Business School Suzhou (IBSS), including Professor Lixian Qian, Dr Miaomiao Liu, Dr Zhe Lin, Dr Bingjie Deng, and Dr Xiaofei Song, attended the conference. They took part in academic exchanges, presented research, and participated in seminars focusing on themes including digital technology and marketing innovation.

Hosted by the Organising Committee of the International Conference on Marketing Science and Innovation  and organised by China University of Mining and Technology and other institutions, the conference was focused on “Digital Technology Empowering Industrial Transformation: Marketing Innovation, Organisational Restructuring and Sustainable Growth.” It brought together numerous experts and scholars from universities and research institutions in China and abroad to explore cutting-edge issues in marketing science and enterprise innovation practices in the intelligent era.

As a co-chair of the conference’s Academic Committee, Professor Lixian Qian was invited to host the first keynote session, demonstrating the academic influence and professional organisational strength of IBSS staff in relevant research fields. Dr Zhe Lin, Assistant Professor, Dr Xiaofei Song, Assistant Professor, Dr Xiaofan Chen, apostdoctoral fellow, supervised by Professor Lixian Qian and Professor Cheng Zhang of Fudan University; PhD student Chi Yang, supervised by Professor Lixian Qian and Dr Miaomiao Liu; PhD student Yanbo Li, supervised by Professor Lixian Qian, Dr Miaomiao Liu and Dr Zhe Lin;, and Yanzhao Lv, an undergraduate student in Information Systems and Information Managementsupervised by Dr Bingjie Deng and Dr Kaiyu Xu, presented their latest research in parallel sessions. Their topics included digital marketing, platform governance, consumer behaviour, and policy impact. Together, these presentations reflected the breadth of IBSS research and the School’s continued commitment to innovation in these areas.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of the MSI International Conference, and IBSS successfully hosted the 6th MSI Conference in 2022. At the 10th-anniversary gala dinner of this conference, Professor Lixian Qian offered congratultions to MSI on behalf of IBSS and received a  commendation from Professor Yonggui Wang, Chairman of the Conference, in recognition of IBSS’ contribution as a previous host.

At this year’s conference, PhD student Chi Yang from IBSS was selected for the Excellent Paper Sharing Session, where he presented his work alongside PhD students from many "Double First-Class" universities. His paper The Different Impact of Draft Policy and Formal Policy on Company Production Strategy, co-authored with Professor Lixian Qian and Dr Miaomiao Liu, won the Second Prize for Excellent Paper, demonstrating the academic potential and research strength of IBSS doctoral students.

Through participation in the conference, our academic staff and students gained deeper insight into cutting-edge trends in the field of marketing science and innovation, broadened their research perspectives, and finessed their academic communication skills. Their exchanges with experts and scholars from China and abroad not only deepened their  understanding of how digital technology can drive marketing innovation, but also generated valuable ideas for future research, academic collaboration and further scholarly development. Their participation reflected the strong academic culture of IBSS and highlighted the School’s continuing progress in research innovation and talent development.

IBSS has always attached importance to promoting discipline construction and talent training through high-level academic exchanges, and actively supports academic staff and students in participating in high-level academic conferences and professional practice. Looking ahead, the school will continue to improve its support mechanism, build a richer platform for academic exchange, promote the deeper integration of research and talent training and further enhance its research strength and education quality.
