On 31 July 2026, the Chinese Language Summer School at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University drew to a close. 205 international students from 37 countries across six continents came together on XJTLU’s Suzhou campus to wrap up their four-week programme of Chinese learning and cultural discovery. During this period of study, by improving their Chinese proficiency and actively engaging in cultural activities, everyone has gained a multifaceted and profound understanding of the rich heritage of traditional Chinese culture.

At this closing ceremony, international students from nine classes took the stage one after another to present class performances. With acts ranging from Chinese‑language songs and tongue‑twisters to dances, students showcased their one‑month Chinese‑learning outcomes and spoke Chinese confidently. Every international student received a completion certificate, which stands as the best testimony to their hard work and steady progress, marking a perfect end to this summer Chinese‑learning journey.

Vijay kumar sakshi jain from India said that her journey at the XJTLU Chinese Language Summer School was an incredibly wonderful memory. She not only improved her Chinese language skills, but also experienced the resilience and wisdom embodied in Chinese culture. This has strengthened her determination to uphold the belief of “perseverance and never giving up” as she continues to move forward on her path of learning Chinese.

The 2026 Chinese Language Summer School has provided international students with a fulfilling and unforgettable experience. Language serves as a bridge connecting people, while culture opens a window for understanding the world. In the future, they will continue to explore new possibilities in Chinese learning with curiosity and enthusiasm.
