刘伟博士是阿里巴巴集团ESG战略负责人，同时担任阿里巴巴-南洋理工全球电子可持续发展企业实验室（Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab）联合主任。他主导制定并实施了阿里巴巴首份碳中和行动方案及ESG战略，包括首份综合性ESG报告；目前还负责新兴ESG议题的研究，涵盖气候相关财务披露、人工智能赋能可持续发展等领域。刘伟博士在北京大学攻读生物学与经济学，并于密歇根州立大学获得保护生态学博士学位。他在中国、欧洲、南亚与东南亚及南部非洲拥有20年的研究与实践经验，工作常涉及气候变化减缓与适应、自然与生态系统管理及社会经济发展之间的交叉领域。加入阿里巴巴前，他曾任国际应用系统分析研究所（IIASA）风险与韧性项目下风险治理研究组负责人，并继续担任该所高级研究学者。此外，他还担任联合国世界适应科学计划（WASP）科学委员会委员、中国上市公司协会ESG专业委员会委员、中国环境科学学会多个专业委员会职务，以及新加坡气候影响交易所（Climate Impact X）国际咨询委员会委员。
Dr Wei Liu is the Head of ESG Strategy at the Alibaba Group and co-Director of the Alibaba-NTU Global e-Sustainability CorpLab. He led the development and implementation of Alibaba’s first carbon neutrality action plan and ESG strategy, including its first comprehensive ESG Report, and currently also leads research on emerging ESG topics, from climate-related financial disclosure to AI for sustainability. Dr Liu studied Biology and Economics at Peking University and obtained his PhD degree in conservation ecology at Michigan State University. He has 20 years of research and practice experience in China, Europe, South and Southeast Asia, and Southern Africa, often at the interface of climate mitigation and adaptation, nature and ecosystem management, and socioeconomic development. Before joining Alibaba, he led the Risk Governance research group at the Risk and Resilience Programme of the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA), where he remains as a Senior Research Scholar. He also serves on the Science Committee of the UN’s World Adaptation Science Programme, the ESG committee of the China Association for Public Companies, various committees in the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, and the International Advisory Council of Climate Impact X in Singapore.
