Dr. Wensheng Zhou holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California (2002), an M.S. in Physics from the University of Toledo (1994), and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Peking University (1991). With over 30 years of cross-disciplinary experience spanning academia, R&D, and industry, he currently serves as an Adjunct Professor & Scientific AI Officer at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a consultant for biotech/tech firms (e.g., SingleParticle, ClonOrgan, ImmunoKey).
His career highlights include leading SIP-UCLA ITA (2013-2024) in technology incubation, startup support, and securing funding for projects in multimedia, big data, and biomedicine; holding senior roles at MediaTek USA, HRL Laboratory, and Teradyne, where he led R&D on AI algorithms, video analysis, semiconductor materials, and cybersecurity (with 4 granted US patents and 8 pending disclosures); and serving as an Adjunct Professor at UCLA and Cal State LA.
