Dr. Xin Chen is a Research Fellow at Suzhou Laboratory with a strong academic and professional background. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from Stanford University (2005) and B.S. in Materials Science from the University of Science and Technology of China (1999). His work experience includes serving as Guest Professor (2025-2027, University of Science and Technology of China), Assistant Professor (2011-2020, Boston University), Visiting Professor (2016-2017, Peking University), Postdoc Fellow (2008-2011, Harvard University; 2005-2008, Texas A&M University) with renowned advisors. He holds social roles like Deputy to Suzhou Gusu District People’s Congress and member of Suzhou Overseas Chinese Federation. He has led major projects including a National Science and Technology Major Project (12M yuan, 2023-2025), a Jiangsu Provincial Frontier Leading Technology Project (5M yuan, 2023-2025), etc. He owns 30 patents across 6 families (e.g., soft robotic actuators, lithium-ion battery separators) authorized globally, and as of June 2023, has published peer-reviewed articles with over 7600 citations, H-index=31, in journals like Nat.
