Lan Guo holds a PhD in Architecture from Southeast University. She has worked as a research assistant in the School of Architecture at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and as a teaching assistant at Southern California Institute of Architecture. While teaching in Nanjing, she won several teaching awards, such as the Excellent Instructor Award of International Solar Building Design Competition, 2nd Prize in Teaching Competition of Online Course among universities in Jiangsu. Her research focuses on the history and theory of architectural education and the design of child-friendly city, for which she has received several academic grants.
Besides her academic work, she has worked on a number of practical projects, including the Court Building of Admiralty in Beihai and the urban design of Ying’en Gate Water Street in Shaoxing, the latter of which won the first prize of architectural creation award of Jiangsu Civil Engineering and Architectural Society.
