Overview

The MSc Project Management programme will equip you with the skills and knowledge to successfully manage projects in a variety of industries and contexts in China and around the world.

Suitable for both experienced professionals and those at the beginning of their project management career. Students are firstly introduced to the core content of the project management body of knowledge. Then they are guided to conduct additional reading and research to understand new developments in the field. Students will identify and master the project management competencies that are supported by research to lead to higher rates of project management and project success.

The programme is delivered in the International Business School Suzhou (IBSS), one of an elite group of institutions worldwide to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). Less than 100 business schools worldwide have both AACSB and EQUIS accreditation

By the time you graduate from the MSc Project Management, you will have:

  • an understanding of the role of project management and the project manager in the life of a project
  • knowledge of the components, processes, tools and techniques in the project management discipline as well as the interactions between these elements
  • a critical understanding of project management, management and leadership theories and applications and how they apply to projects locally and across international borders
  • the skills to engage with senior management to shape the strategic objective of projects and the execute project to realise the desired strategic benefits
  • the skills to initiate, plan, execute, control, lead, evaluate and close projects on time, within budget and with consideration to quality constraints
  • the ability to apply a range of techniques to determine, document and refine project goals, performance requirements, deliverables, constraints and risks as well as use project schedules, resource budgeting and quality in the lifecycle of a project.
This Master’s programme combines the basics with the latest developments in project management to guide you on how to consistently deliver strategic value to organisations through projects.
