Professor Bin Zou develops two AI programs for foreign language learning:

  • AI for English as a foreign language learning (EFL) speaking practice: EAP Talk https://www.eaptalk.com/app/
    EAP Talk has more than 20,000 users and is used by more than 20 universities. Over 20 papers have been published in journals and volumes based on EAP Talk.
  • AI for Chinese as a foreign language learning (CFL) speaking practice: https://chinese.eaptalk.com/app

Dr Xiaojun Zhang has been involved in the following AI tools for language/translation studies:

  1. He is the collaborator of VIP/VIP II (Voice-text Integrated Platform System) project funded by Spanish Ministry. The tool named VIP can be found at  https://www.lexytrad.es/VIP/site/?ln=en. He took care of the language of Chinese in this tool. His name is in the list of  https://www.lexytrad.es/en/members/collaborators/.
  2. He is the one of the authors of WenetSpeech-Wu, a dialect recognition, transcription and translation system led by Audio, Speech and Language Processing Group of Northwestern Polytechnical University.   3. He is the inventor of a software on aging people’s voice recognition. The software is going to be used to apply for a computer software copyright. His paper on this software has been accepted by NSMMSC2026 conference.
  4. He is the inventor of an Invention IP on single chip microcomputer (MCU) robot voice interaction. The agent is applying for IP based on his proposal with university support.
