Professor Qiuwang Wang currently serves as Deputy Dean of the Undergraduate School and Director of the Academic Affairs Office at Xi’an Jiaotong University. He is also the Executive Director of the Belt and Road Joint Laboratory on Clean Energy and Energy Storage, Executive Dean of the Smart Energy Storage Institute, and Secretary-General of the Teaching Steering Committee for Energy and Power Majors in Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education. He serves as the Director of both the Innovative Team and the International Joint Research Centre recognised by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

He was elected as a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in 2019 and a Fellow of the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers (ASTFE) in 2025. He serves as an executive board member of the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer and a standing board member of the International Heat Transfer Conference. He is a founding Editor-in-Chief of Energy Storage and Saving and Associate Editor of the International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer. He has been given the title of a National-Level Leading Talent in China.

His research focuses on process intensification in energy conservation and energy storage. He has led the completion of multiple national key research projects and initiated international conference series such as IWHT and ICENSS. He has published over 500 SCI-indexed papers in journals including Nature Communications and Energy. He is recognised as a Highly Cited Chinese Researcher by Elsevier, which has also included him in its list of Top Scientists with Lifetime Scientific Impact.

He holds 11 authorised US patents and 110 authorised Chinese invention patents. His research achievements include a Second Prize of the National Invention Award (2015), the Innovation Team Award of the National Prize for Progress in Science and Technology (2017), and five First Prizes at the provincial and ministerial level.
