Abstract

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is a joint-venture university based in Suzhou, a city neighboring Shanghai in China’s highly-developed coastal region.

XJTLU grants University of Liverpool (UK) undergraduate and graduate degrees. The University of Liverpool (UoL) is a Russell Group university in the UK.

In THE 2021 ranking of universities, XJTLU was in the top 601-800 band. The Department of China Studies contributes greatly to XJTLU’s international reputation with its young, internationally competitive and diverse faculty.

The MA in China Studies is an interdisciplinary graduate program that offers courses on cutting-edge research on modern and contemporary China. Topics covered by courses include China’s society, politics, history, literature, and economics.

The MA China Studies student body is diverse and international, including students from China, UK, Australia, Italy, and the Netherlands.

The program is 3-semesters and taught in English. International students are offered Chinese language classes.

All students are provided individualized practical training geared towards their respective career paths.

XJTLU offers on-site, online, and hybrid education during the pandemic era.

Scholarships are available.
