About the Topic: How do children’s adverse experiences weaken adults’ mental defenses?

We may all have had some “small accidents” when we were young that became more serious as adults. From forgotten injuries to hurtful words, events in childhood like family conflicts or emotional neglect can weaken our psychological defenses as adults. These negative experiences can impact brain development and increase the risk of anxiety, depression, and PTSD in adulthood. However, early identification and treatment can prevent long-term psychological issues and even promote resilience and growth. By attending the upcoming Brown Bag Lunch and Learn Talk, we can learn how to promote better mental health in adulthood by focusing on children’s mental health.
