Abstract

The 6th MEGA International Creative Media Festival and the Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Academy of Film and Creative Technology Exhibitions at the 15th Suzhou Cultural and Creative Design Industry Trade Expo will take place at the Suzhou International Expo Centre from 29 September to 2 October 2026.

The 15th Suzhou Cultural and Creative Design Industry Trade Expo is hosted by the Suzhou Municipal People’s Government and jointly organised by the Suzhou Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism and Suzhou Culture Investment and Development Group Co., Ltd. As part of the expo, the 6th MEGA International Creative Media Festival is organised by XJTLU’s Academy of Film and Creative Technology. The festival brings together young creators, universities and industry organisations from around the world, with a focus on filmmaking, artificial intelligence, digital arts and immersive media.

This year’s MEGA received 2,014 submissions from 10 countries and regions, representing a year-on-year increase of 45.5 per cent and setting a new record for the festival. The awards ceremony will take place on 29 September, while MEGA’s award-winning works and outstanding creative products and film projects by AFCT students will be exhibited throughout the expo. The event aims to bring fresh perspectives from young creators to Suzhou’s cultural and creative industries, provide university creative talent with a national platform for presentation and exchange, and advance collaboration among industry, universities and research institutions.
