IBSS BA Accounting programme receives full re-accreditation from ACCA

February 23, 2021

BA Accounting, a very popular IBSS undergraduate programme, has been granted full re-accreditation by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in February 2021.

ACCA is a prestigious professional accounting body with more than 227,000 members and 544,000 students in 179 countries around the world.

The accreditation from ACCA is important for both the BA Accounting programme and its graduates because:

  • It ensures the BA Accounting programme to meet and maintain the standards of educational quality agreed upon by a prestigious professional accounting body – ACCA.
  • It enhances BA Accounting students’ employability by guaranteeing that our graduates have possessed a certain set of skills and abilities reflected in the ACCA accreditation criteria, which are desired by prospective employers.

ACCA has a worldwide reputation for excellence and its rigorous qualifications are recognised and respected across the globe. As such, the ACCA accreditation enhances the credibility of our BA Accounting programme,
demonstrating that our BA Accounting programme structure, the course contents, delivery, and resources are of an international standard. Moreover, ACCA works with more than 7,400 Approved Employers and 80 accountancy partnerships worldwide – and connect its members with thousands of vacancies through the ACCA Careers Job Board. This helps to increase our students’ career opportunities.

Given that our BA Accounting programme is fully accredited by ACCA, upon successful completion of the degree and the specific modules in the programme, BA Accounting graduates will be granted applied knowledge and applied skills exemptions. Upon joining ACCA, ACCA students will receive good training to prepare for the ACCA strategic professional level.

Additionally, the BA Accounting programme has also received full re-accreditation from other professional accounting bodies: e.g., Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), Certified Practising Accountant
Australia (CPA Australia), and Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), to demonstrate our international quality of education and to enhance student career development and employability.
