On November 19, 2022, XJTLU International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) held a gathering for finance alumni at the China Merchants Bank (CMB) Suzhou Branch Private Banking Centre. Over 20 alumni and staff participated in this offline event to share their industry experience and personal insights.
During his welcome speech, CMB Suzhou Branch Assistant General Manager, Mr Wei Wang, welcomed everyone on behalf of CMB and said that he was looking forward to the event and further collaboration in the future.
IBSS Dean, Professor Jorg Bley, also warmly welcomed the participating alumni and introduced the remarkable achievements of IBSS in recent years. In 2020, IBSS became the youngest business school in the world to receive Triple Crown Accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA). Professor Bley, who himself has an extensive background in investment banking, provided encouragement to the alumni working in finance and shared his understanding of the industry. He also stressed the importance of alumni in the school’s development and expressed his hope for more in-depth cooperation with them in the future.

Ms Yao Zou, Head of Admissions and Alumni at IBSS, gave a brief introduction to the school’s current corporate partnership programme and talked about the important role IBSS alumni play in this programme. She urged alumni to get involved and build a deeper connection with their alma mater. In terms of personal development avenues, Ms Yao also introduced a variety of short courses and part-time degree programmes IBSS offers, with these aimed at providing lifelong learning and continued support for their personal development after graduation.

IBSS Senior Alumni Officer, Ms Yumin Li, spoke on several essential benefits offered by IBSS to its alumni, with these including alumni events, permanent account and library resources, alumni discounts, career development support and more. IBSS also invited senior alumni in the audience to return to campus to share their own industry experience and advice to current students to facilitate their career development, as well as providing valuable support for their future employment.

IBSS Distinguished Master's Alumni representative, Jinfeng, is a Key Account Representative for global talent management firm FESCO Adecco in Suzhou. As a student, she was selected for XJTLU’s “CEO for One Month” programme and also joined the university’s external mentor programme. As a senior, Jin Feng has returned to IBSS many times to support XJTLU student activities. During this finance alumni gathering, Jin Feng shared the topic of "Investment and Financing Trends in Windfall Companies - Development Logic and Trends", and provided a clear and concise narrative to highlight important industry trends.

The IBSS Alumni Team received positive feedback from participants after the successful gathering and alumni noted that they were looking forward to meeting again in the spring. During future alumni events, the Business School alumni team will focus more on industry differentiation and seek to establish face-to-face networking opportunities for more alumni from different fields.
