“I believe we are evolving from student-centred learning toward brain-enhancement empowerment—a natural next step in deepening engagement and unlocking human potential.”
Dr Victor (Vik) Perez, Associate Professor of Practice at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU)’s Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Hub, was recently invited to present his work at the University of Oxford. The event, held on 10 April 2025 and organized by Oxford’s Department of Education, was part of the international forum themed “Reimagining the Landscape of Education and Beyond.” Dr Perez contributed to Session 1: Technology, AI, and Assessment in Education, where he introduced the principles of Cognitive Performance Music™ (CPM)—a proprietary innovation he independently conceived and developed to enhance focus, motivation, and cognitive readiness in learning. He also briefly highlighted the WNYLE Method, his award-winning pedagogical framework that supports his brain-driven approach.
“Rather than present, I aimed to provoke—to invite a new vision where sound, science, and emotion converge to transform how we learn,” he reflected.
Attendees were immersed in a live session featuring “Dream, Dream,” a signature track from Take the Leap—the world’s first Cognitive Performance Music™ album, composed using his proprietary neuro-algorithm. The experience offered a vivid illustration of how sound and neuroscience can intertwine to enhance cognitive engagement and emotional resonance in learning. Following the session, he engaged with Oxford scholars, doctoral researchers, and education professionals, sparking conversations about how sound-based cognitive approaches might support engagement in evolving educational contexts.
This appearance further strengthened XJTLU’s global visibility as a forward-thinking institution, demonstrating its support for innovative, faculty-led contributions to the future of education.
