On Saturday May 17, 2025, an air of anticipation filled the XJTLU campus as students and parents gathered for a landmark academic fair hosted jointly by the School of Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Computing (AIAC) led by Dean, Professor Angelos Stefanidis; the School of Advanced Technology (SAT) led by Dean, Professor Eng Gee Lim; and the School of Science (SCI) led by Dean, Professor John Moraros.
The event was a resounding success, drawing an enthusiastic and well-attended crowd eager to learn more about the three newly launched and popular undergraduate programmes: the Bachelor of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence, the Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, and the Bachelor of Engineering in Materials Science and Engineering.
From the outset of the event, it was clear this was an extraordinary university showcase. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement, curiosity and ambition as highly talented, prospective, Year 1 students and their families engaged with faculty members, program directors, and current students. Booths were crowded, questions flowed freely, and the sense of opportunity was palpable.
Among the highlights of the academic fair were the informative and in-depth presentations given by Dr. Jionglong Su (Jionglong.Su@xjtlu.edu.cn) for the BEng in Artificial Intelligence offered by AIAC at the Taicang (TC) campus, Dr. Shengchen.Li (Shengchen.Li@xjtlu.edu.cn) for the BEng in Artificial Intelligence offered by SAT at the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) campus and Dr. Yongtao Zhu (Yongtao.Zhu@xjtlu.edu.cn) for the BSc in Biomedical Sciences and Dr. Tianhong Gu (Tianhong.Gu@xjtlu.edu.cn) for the BEng in Materials Science and Engineering both of which are offered by SCI at the SIP campus at XJTLU. All three innovative programmes drew particular attention and high praise—for their cutting-edge curriculum, hands-on learning components, industry partnerships and their highly competitive nature.
Entry into these innovative programmes is highly competitive with a limited intake of only 30 student seats for the BSc in Biomedical Sciences and another 30 students seats for the BEng in Materials Science and Engineering. For the BSc in Artificial Intelligence, there are 50 student seats at the TC campus and another 50 students seats at the SIP campus. Justifiably, there was an overwhelming number of early inquiries and keen interest by students and parents alike since these programmes are clearly positioned as premier choices for ambitious students aiming for impactful careers in healthcare innovation, sustainable materials engineering and artificial intelligence.
These three programmes represent XJTLU’s strong commitment to addressing global challenges through interdisciplinary education, cutting-edge research, and industry collaboration. They promise students not just a degree but a transformative academic journey—one that leads to real-world impact and rewarding careers, whether through biomedical research, the development of next-generation materials or advances in the frontiers of artificial intelligence.
Therefore, students are urged to promptly complete their registrations on May 20th and 21st, when the short application window opens.
Due to the strong interest, high demand and limited availability, early registration will be key for securing a competitive place in these popular and very much sought after programmes.
For students ready to embrace a productive, challenging, and rewarding university experience at XJTLU—one that opens doors to global career opportunities—the moment to act is now.
A bright future awaits you!
