Six students from the Academy of Film and Creative Technology (AFCT) at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University have recently passed the Avid Pro Tools International Certification Exams, earning the prestigious title of AVID Certified | Pro Tools Specialist.
This remarkable achievement underscores the students’ advanced technical expertise in sound production while further strengthening the Academy’s reputation for excellence in film, television, and creative media education. By completing the Pro Tools Fundamentals I (PT101) and Pro Tools Fundamentals II (PT110) exams, the students have gained globally recognised qualifications, giving them a significant advantage in the competitive fields of audio post-production, music, and film.
Avid Pro Tools, widely regarded as the industry’s leading digital audio workstation, is used across the world for professional recording, editing, and mixing. Certification demonstrates not only the students’ mastery of professional workflows but also their ability to apply these skills to real-world creative and technical challenges.
The certification course was delivered by Dane Taylor, who holds dual qualifications as an AVID Certified | Pro Tools Instructor and Specialist. With extensive industry experience as an award-winning sound engineer, Taylor provided students with invaluable professional insights and expert guidance throughout their training.
Reflecting on the students’ success, Dane Taylor commented: “It is inspiring and reassuring to see students commit to such a high standard of technical training. Pro Tools certification equips them with practical skills and an international credential that will support both their academic journey and their future careers in the sound and media industries.”
The Academy warmly congratulates these six students on their outstanding success and looks forward to seeing them apply their Pro Tools expertise in future creative projects. AFCT remains committed to delivering industry-standard training and certification opportunities through its ongoing partnership with Avid.
