On 25 November, the CRRC Business Administration Programme was officially launched at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). Co-developed by CRRC and the International Business School Suzhou at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University , this programme aims to foster a high-calibre management team equipped with a global perspective, systematic thinking, and innovative capabilities, injecting robust momentum into CRRC's international development and industrial upgrading. A distinguished lineup of leaders and guests attended the opening ceremony, including Shuguo Lou, Director of Talent Development, Human Resources Department (Party Committee Cadre Department), CRRC; Professor Zhoulin Ruan, Vice president of XJTLU; Professor Hefei Wang, Deputy Dean of IBSS; Professor Pavel Castka, Associate Dean for Business Intelligence and Industry Research at IBSS; and Ms Ying Jin, Executive Education Manager at IBSS. They gathered with 66 middle-level managers from CRRC-affiliated enterprises.

In his opening address, Professor Zhoulin Ruan, Vice President of XJTLU, noted that as a global leader in the rail transit equipment industry, CRRC stands as a shining showcase of "Made in China". Meanwhile, XJTLU, a research-oriented university established through Sino-British cooperation, has consistently dedicated itself to talent cultivation and the integration of industry and education from an international perspective. Since the launch of their collaboration in 2016, the two parties have built a solid foundation and achieved fruitful results over the past decade. This Business Administration Programme represents a further deepening and continuation of their cooperation. Based on the core curriculum of MBA programmes, the tailored course structure covers key areas such as Party building leadership, strategic thinking, and digital transformation. Adopting a four-in-one teaching model integrating classroom instruction, case studies, mobile classes, and action learning, the programme helps participants construct a systematic framework for management cognition. Professor Ruan also introduced XJTLU's educational strategy, which has evolved through three rounds of educational model innovation and now features the parallel development of versions 1.0 to 3.0. He emphasised that the university will provide strong support for the programme with its high-quality educational resources.

Subsequently, Mr Shuguo Lou, Director of Talent Development, Human Resources Department (Party Committee Cadre Department), CRRC, delivered an opening mobilisation speech. He mentioned that both parties have attached great importance to this training since last year, and have repeatedly optimised the plan through multiple rounds of in-depth discussions, finally determining a training plan that meets the needs. He emphasised that the launch of this training programme is a crucial initiative to implement the spirit of CRRC's Talent Work Conference and build an outstanding team of young cadres. Focusing on the core training objective of further enhancing systematic management thinking and comprehensive management capabilities for the 66 middle-level managers from CRRC-affiliated enterprises, he put forward four requirements: first, to deeply understand the significance of the training and strengthen the sense of mission and responsibility for self-improvement; second, to strive for tangible learning outcomes by consolidating political resolve, broadening strategic horizons, and identifying areas for improvement through benchmarking against excellence via systematic study; third, to adhere to the application of knowledge, exchanging insights on practical work-related issues and translating learning achievements into problem-solving capabilities; fourth, to strictly abide by training disciplines to ensure the programme delivers tangible results.

In the closing part of the opening ceremony, Dr Xiao Wang, Academic Director of the programme, emphasized that Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU)’s disciplinary strengths will provide solid support for this course. According to the latest ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects, XJTLU’s Business Administration discipline ranks among the world’s top tier, while its Economics and Business research has entered the top 1% of ESI globally. Leveraging this high-quality learning platform, participants from CRRC will gain valuable knowledge and insights.

In the afternoon session, the programme featured a key academic lecture delivered by Professor Youmin Xi, Executive President of XJTLU, on the topic of "The Philosophy of HeXie Management Theory". Combining global industrial transformation trends with the actual management needs of state-owned enterprises, Professor Xi elaborated on the unique value of HeXie Management Theory in balancing organisational development with the external environment and resolving complex management contradictions. Particularly targeting the management pain points in the rail transit equipment industry, he proposed actionable directions for the practical application of the theory, guiding participants to examine systemic issues in corporate management from a philosophical perspective.

Running from 25 November to 19 December, this four-week programme covers a range of key areas, including Party building leadership, strategic thinking, international operations, digital and intelligent transformation, technological innovation, ESG practices, supply chain management, and finance and marketing. Action learning will be integrated throughout the programme, progressing through four phases: initiation, research, deepening, and formulation. Complemented by three corporate field trips and one visit to a red education base, the programme will also include corresponding review and discussion sessions to integrate theory with practice, fully aligning with the comprehensive development needs of CRRC’s management talents.

This university-enterprise collaboration not only marks a significant step in CRRC's talent strategy layout but also represents another milestone in XJTLU's achievements in integrating industry and education. It will cultivate more backbone forces for CRRC's high-quality development.
