In October 2025, Dr. Jinbo He from the School of Science at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) was invited to serve as an Associate Editor for the international academic journal Performance Enhancement & Health.

Performance Enhancement & Health (PEH) is a multidisciplinary, international, peer-reviewed journal published by Elsevier that publishes research on the enhancement of human functioning and health. Reflecting its broad and integrative scope, PEH welcomes work that investigates performance enhancement and health through the lenses of the social sciences, humanities, psychology, biomedical science, and public health.
Adopting a biopsychosocial approach to health, the journal features research addressing the physical, mental, and social dimensions of human well-being. Its topics include—but are not limited to—human enhancement drugs, sport, exercise and fitness, athletes’ health and wellbeing, body image, workplace and school performance, quality of life, (anti-)aging and lifestyle, fatigue and injury prevention, and self-regulation of performance and human functioning.
The journal’s latest Impact Factor is 3.7 (Journal Citation Indicator = 1.27; Q1), and it is ranked in Q2 in the Medical Sciences category according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) journal classification.
Dr. Jinbo He is an associate professor at the Department of Biosciences and Bioinformatics, School of Science, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. His research interests include: 1) Social and Health Psychology (with a particular focus on eating and weight-related issues), 2) Quantitative Research Methods (such as mixed models, longitudinal analysis, meta-analysis, and the application of machine learning in health sciences) and 3) Digital Mental Health (including online and mobile-based psychological health promotion).
Dr. He has received and led multiple research projects including one funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and has published over 130 papers as first or corresponding author. He has been recognized as one of Stanford/Elsevier’s World’s Top 2% of scientists in 2025.
Currently, he serves as an Associate Editor of Journal of Eating Disorders and Performance Enhancement & Health, and as an Editorial Board Member of International Journal of Eating Disorders, Body Image, and Eating and Weight Disorders – Studies on Anorexia, Bulimia and Obesity.
