ALC PD Workshop: Supporting Students in PG Application Writing

On November 24, 2025, approximately 40 language lecturers from the Academic Literacies Centre (ALC) of the XJTLU Global Cultures and Languages Hub participated in a professional development workshop titled "Supporting Students in Postgraduate Application Writing."
The workshop was led by two experienced coaches from the Writing and Language Studio at Duke Kunshan University: Prof. Kristin Hiller, Associate Director of Writing and Language Studio, and Joseph Davies, Assistant Director for PG English for Academic Purposes. They delivered an insightful session that focused on practical strategies for effectively supporting postgraduate admission writing.
In addition to the informative presentations, the session included an interactive role-play activity, allowing participants to engage with the material and explore various scenarios related to assisting students in their postgraduate application process.
The workshop was a great success, equipping ALC lecturers with practical tools and strategies to better support students as they navigate their postgraduate application journeys.
