In the 2025–26 academic year, three academic staff in the Department of Economics at International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) have received academic promotions from the university. These promotions recognise their sustained excellence in research, teaching, and service, as well as their valuable contributions to the Department and the wider academic community.

Dr Bo Jiang is an Associate Professor in Economics at the International Business School Suzhou. Dr Jiang joined the School in October 2021 as an Assistant Professor in Economics. He received his PhD in Economics from George Washington University in the US in August 2021. His research interests include monetary economics, financial economics, FinTech, network theory, and the Chinese economy.

Dr King Yoong Lim is a Senior Associate Professor in Economics. He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Manchester, in the UK. His primary research interests are energy economics, innovation strategies (both macro and micro), and, more broadly, development macroeconomics. Currently, Dr Lim holds a large RFIS-II grant awarded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC). He serves as an Associate Editor of the journal Economic Issues.

Dr Fan Liu is an Associate Professor in Economics at IBSS. She obtained her PhD in Economics from the University of Iowa, in the US. Her research focuses on financial inclusion and resilience, financial intermediation, innovation and FinTech, macroeconomics, small business entrepreneurship, household finance, and gender. Dr Liu is currently an Editorial Board Member of Springer Nature “Humanities & Social Sciences Communications”.

The Department warmly congratulates Dr Jiang, Dr Lim, and Dr Liu on their well-deserved promotions and wishes them continued success and fulfilment in their future professional paths.
