Chinese Language Spring Course

Overview

Come to XJTLU to learn the most widely-spoken language in the world at a leading Sino-British University. Experience quality teaching in culturally rich, historic Suzhou.

Levels offered

We provide practical Chinese language courses for learners at the beginner, elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels (HSK1-HSK6/CEFR A1-C1). A class will be formed with at least five students.

Dates

The spring semester course runs from 17 February to 6 June, 2025.

Schedule

There are 12 hours of standard classes per week, scheduled on four weekdays.

Additional Chinese cultural sessions, language clinic and one-on-one consultation are also provided during the programme as part of course fee.

Fees


RMB 9,500 per semester (including textbooks, cultural experience activities and language supporting workshops but excluding any extra optional field trips).


We offer a 40 percent discount on the fees above to the following types of students:

  • students who are already studying at XJTLU (degree or non-degree)
  • students who have previously studied at XJTLU (degree or non-degree)
  • University of Liverpool students and recent graduates (within the past two years)
  • XJTLU staff, their partners and adult children
  • other partnership university students.

How to apply

The deadline for applications is 13 Dec 2024.  The deadline for students in Mainland China with a Chinese Resident Permit to apply is 27 Dec 2024.

Note:

Please be kindly noted that a class will start only if at least five applicants have registered.

For students who are currently located in China, the university may require additional documentation for visa extension/ transfer. For students who are continuing in the course, it is normally expected that you enroll on the next level.

The Chinese Language course is offered to students onsite only. It is suggested that applicants who are currently outside of China check the border policy between your country and China before applying.
