Students rewarded for academic excellence

July 28, 2020

More than 855 XJTLU students will receive academic scholarships for the 2020/21 academic year. The Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University Scholarship Committee approved the award of these scholarships on 20 July.

The University offers Progression Scholarships and Continuing Academic Merit Scholarships (previously called Retention of Entry Scholarships) to students based on their academic performance in the previous academic year.

The Progression Scholarship is further divided into two categories: University Academic Excellence Award and University Academic Achievement Award.

Students in the top 5 percent of the programme cohort receive a University Academic Excellence Award of 10,000 RMB. Students in the top 5.1 percent to 10 percent of the programme cohort receive a University Academic Achievement Award of RMB 5,000. In both cases, students must also have achieved an overall average mark of 65 percent.

Continuing Academic Merit Scholarships are awarded to those who received Entry Scholarships or Retention of Entry Scholarships in 2019/20 if they continue to rank in the top 25 percent of the programme cohort in 2019/20 and in the meantime have achieved an overall average mark of 60 percent.

XJTLU’s Registry Office is pleased to announce that this year 393 students received the University Academic Excellence Award, 384 students the University Academic Achievement Award and 78 students the Continuing Academic Merit Scholarship.

If you have any queries, please contact the Registry Office.
