Structures and functions

  • The Materials Characterisation and Molecular Device Laboratory mainly focuses on research on the characterisation of various materials and assessing their properties, as well as single-molecule devices and their electron transport;
  • The Power Electronics and Applications Laboratory does research on the fabrication of energy storage devices, including lithium-ion batteries, and carbon-based supercapacitor and thin-film solar cell fabrication;
  • The Renewable Energy Sources Laboratory focuses on the control and applications of wind and solar energy, including microgrids, power conversion, and integration of power electronics;
  • The Energy Storage Device Laboratory is focused on the fabrication of energy storage devices, including lithium-ion batteries, and carbon-based supercapacitor and thin-film solar cell fabrication;
  • The Nano-Micro Fabrication Laboratory focuses on nano-micro devices and chip fabrication technology, including gallium nitride power devices and circuit fabrication, flexible semiconductor device and memory fabrication, and nano-micro materials fabrication including graphene and nanofriction power generation materials;
  • The VLSI Design Laboratory does research on AI chip design and testing, and the applications of AI chips in driverless cars and robots.
  • The VLSI Testing and Characterisation Laboratory focuses on chip testing, nanofriction power generation systems testing, and the application of AI chips in robots.
