We are developing an innovative Chinese herbal dessert project based on the traditional concept of “homology of medicine and food,” integrating ancient TCM principles with modern food technology to create functional, health-promoting desserts. Centered on “personalized constitution-based herbal desserts,” we customize formulations according to individual body types and sub-healthy conditions, combining modern nutrition science with traditional herbal synergy to meet dietary needs across all age groups. By merging traditional medicinal ingredients with contemporary dessert-making techniques, we craft delicious and nourishing specialty products. The project’s key differentiator lies in its customization: consumers can tailor their own dessert recipes based on personal constitution, taste preferences, and wellness goals, enabling personalized shapes and designs. This approach ensures that our herbal desserts deliver not only great taste and health benefits but also a uniquely personalized appearance.
Team Introduction
The project team consists of five members, including four graduate students majoring in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and one undergraduate student specializing in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Xiamen University. The team signed a pre-incubation agreement in March 2025, which officially took effect in the same month.
Application Scenarios
The project develops wellness desserts based on food-medicine homologous Chinese herbs, addressing current public health concerns: commercially available wellness products often have poor taste and are difficult to consume consistently; ordinary desserts are high in sugar and fat, harming health; and existing wellness solutions lack personalization, failing to match individual constitutions. By customizing formulas through constitution diagnosis, the project balances delicious taste with therapeutic effects of medicinal diets, enabling personalized wellness consumption. This improves consumer adherence to daily wellness practices, helps people develop gentle dietary supplementation habits, promotes the practical integration of traditional Chinese medicine and food culture into everyday life, and fosters industrialized technologies for a new generation of healthy food products.
Support from X³ Co-venture
Financial assistance: For raw material procurement, formula iteration, product mass production trial, and brand initial promotion and launch.
Future Development
With the continuous iteration and optimization of the herbal dessert, we are committed to enabling all consumer groups to purchase customized health desserts that are suitable for their own physical conditions. Relying on convenient dietary supplements, we aim to help the public improve their sub-health conditions and meet the demands of modern fast-paced healthy eating. The project will continuously optimize the product efficacy and eating experience, helping consumers achieve gentle daily dietary supplementation and improve their physical condition. At the same time, it will promote the modernization and popularization of traditional medicine and food integration culture, and expand the two key implementation scenarios of new-style healthy dessert offline stores and pre-prepared gift items.
