Part of XJTLU’s ‘Syntegrative Educational Model’, this Microelectronic Science and Engineering programme is made in collaboration with Standard Science Chip Cloud Microelectronics and Shanghai Institute of Microsystem and Information Technology, at the School of CHIPS in XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang).

Knowledge and skills

By the time you graduate from the Microelectronic Science and Engineering with Contemporary Entrepreneurialism, you will have:

  • Understand the fundamental mechanisms governing solid-state microelectronic devices and their related application for integrated circuits
  • Understand the technology and specified processes behind the advanced manufacturing and fabrication of electronic devices
  • Have in-depth understanding in existing or emerging aspects of microelectronics i.e. circuit design, materials, device engineering and fabrication processes
  • Use emerging process techniques for the investigation of advanced microelectronic processes and cutting-edge devices
  • Communicate technical content effectively via reports, academic publications and oral presentations
  • Educate entrepreneurial leaders with a global vision and the ability to lead future development in the industry
  • Obtain hands-on industry experience gained through on-site visits and internships

The Bachelor of Engineering in Microelectronics Science and Engineering with Contemporary Entrepreneurialism aims to educate the next generation of professionals and entrepreneurs in the critically important semiconductor industry. This programme covers digital, analogue, mixed-signal IC design, and fabrication/packaging technology.

UK degrees are three years long whereas in China they are four, therefore we do accept students with certain qualifications directly into Year Two, which is the start of the main academic programme. Most students, however, enter into Year One, which provides you with a range of interesting modules, language classes and core skills for your degree.
