Between 2012 and 2016, he was a researcher at Stirling, working on first MEMS microphone signal processing, and latterly, was a Research Co-Investigator for a large (~0.5 million GBP) EPSRC research grant into audiovisual hearing aids. He was also a visiting researcher, in 2015, based at Anhui University in Hefei, focusing on image processing. He is currently a lecturer at Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University, with active interest in image processing, machine learning, speech processing, and other cognitively inspired speech research.
