My research focuses on understanding the needs of the citizens and co-creating technologies with them that aim to improve their every day life. I am especially interested in making a city smart, livable, sustainable and the inhabitants happy. As such my research is interdisciplinary and draws expertise from several fields – such as Computer Science, Sociology, Psychology, etc. So far I have been involved in co-creating intelligent transport systems that aim to improve the passenger experience, but recently I have started exploring other domains, such as heritage, education, etc. Some of the issues that interest me involve understanding the technologies that matter, how can we use emerging technologies smartly and sustainably, and what do smart cities mean for economy and society. I have worked with numerous projects, and have been involved in improving cities and making citizens happy all around the world for several years.Main areas of expertise:
Ethno(techno)methodology, computer supported cooperative work, participatory design methods, user experience, and user-centered design.
