Abstract

New drug development is one of the most challenging engineering tasks today. Not like other industries dealing with direct product development, new drug development depends heavily on scientific research, and state-of-the-art screening methods and animal models are also indispensable for the process. However, drug development can still be facing unpredictable failure during clinical trials. Therefore, numerous new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, DNA coded drug library and combinatorial chemistry, etc. have been arising to enhance the success rate of drug development. Meanwhile, various novel drug forms and formulations including antibody-drug conjugate, CAR-T, cancer immunotherapy are introduced to reshape our medication environment. In this talk, novel technologies applied to the development of new drugs and novel drug forms will be reviewed.
