Abstract

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and Jiangsu Industrial Technology Research Institute (JITRI), are launching a major collaborative initiate, the XJTLU-JITRI Academy of Industrial Technology, as a concreate response to the national and local calls for enhancing and reforming postgraduate education and for the co-development and integration of the industrial and educational sectors, as well as a joint action to
promote the high-quality economic development of the Jiangsu Province and to contribute to the integrated development of Yangtse River Delta Region.
The XJTLU-JITRI Academy of Industrial Technology will be built on the University’s unique features of internationalisation and openness, its strategy for syntegration (symbiosis +integration), and its focus on innovation and sustainable innovation. The Academy aims to cultivate innovative talents for
industries with compound educational background and the competence to lead future developments. Moreover, it will explore a new education ecosystem with high-level integration of industrial needs, education and research.
