A New Chapter of Syntegrative Education | XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) Syntegrative Education Month

The University sets multi-campus interaction as a significant objective area in its three-year strategic plan. In March 2024, XJTLU hosted a successful University Leadership Forum with a special focus on the topic of cross-campus Year 1 student engagement through the joint endeavours by XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang), the Learning Institute for Future Excellence and the Centre of Student Affairs, which jointly opened a new chapter of multi-campus interaction. As an active practitioner of XJTLU 2.0 model - Syntegrative Education, XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) hereby initiate the activity themed ‘2024 Syntegrative Education Month’ at the beginning of the new academic year.

A series of diverse activities have been carefully designed for this theme month, aiming to deepen the understanding and practice of Syntegrative Education among students, parents and XJTLU staffs, as well as to comprehensively demonstrate the unique charm of XEC. There are a variety of activities, including the XEC Syntegrative Education Exhibition, Undergraduate Programmes Market, Taster Class, XEC Open Day, Innovation and Entrepreneurship salon and bootcamp, as well as cross-campus collaboration workshops. We will introduce in detail the project-based learning journey, Syntegrative projects, student innovation and entrepreneurship platforms, and UG programmes, so that students, parents and staff can fully understand the concepts, practical processes and outcomes of Syntegrative Education.

Syntegrative Education Month is not only a feast of knowledge, but also a passionate collision of innovation and inspiration. We sincerely invite all staff, students and parents, to participate in the activities, to exchange the ideas and thoughts, and to create a better future together!

 

1.UG Programme Market

  • Y1 XJTLUer, your new journey to university has set sail, and everything is full of freshness and anticipation. In order to help you integrate into the rich and colorful campus life of the university, the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) has prepared a UG Programme Market for you, aiming to guide you to understand the uniqueness of the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). In this market, you will experience the project-based learning journey of the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). Senior academic staffs from the seven industry schools and the Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Hub will provide you with professional and detailed consultations, and introduce the features of the seven undergraduate programmes. At the same time Innovation Factory and X3 Co-Venture will lead you to explore the mysteries of technological innovation and entrepreneurship, and feel the infinite possibilities. Through in-depth communication and interaction with us, you will gradually clarify your interests and directions, and find the most suitable professional path for you.

 

2.Taster Class

XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) combines the unique advantages of seven undergraduate programmes to develop seven wonderful taster classes for you. This is not only a course experience, but also a valuable opportunity to learn more about the essence of each programme, and explore personal interests and future directions.

1) DTS001&DTS003—What you do not know about AI and Big Data

  • Start your college journey by uncovering the mysteries of AI and Big      Data! Here, you'll discover the technological forces transforming our world every day. Let's embark on an exciting and challenging learning journey, where you'll no longer just be a user of technology but a creator of the future world!

 

2) MFE001—Exploring Engineering Creation and Innovation

  • Theme: Intelligent Manufacturing - New Quality Productive Forces
  • Date & Time: 3pm to 4pm, 3 September
  • Location: FB251, Foundation Building, North Campus
  • This taster course aims to deliver the introduction to the following areas of technology in the School of Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem. (Future oriented manufacturing development and technology, AI fused co-worker and smart body, Spatial computing and brain link and New quality productive forces and future employment)

 

3) CAT001 – Introduction to Video Game Culture

  • Video games are just for fun? Not true! Join Introduction to Video Game Culture to play and explore our society and culture with your favorite games!

 

4) ENT003—Immersive Entrepreneurship

  • Date & Time: 5pm to 6pm, 3 September

  • Goodbye to High School.  My goal is to succeed in my university education. I want to be different from my peers.

 

5) Light touch of supply chain elements

  • Date & Time: 1pm to 2pm, 5 September
  • Location: FB251, Foundation Building, North Campus
  • How would you go about orchestrating an opulent banquet? Perhaps, you would require exceptional chefs whose culinary prowess is matched by their attention to speed and efficiency, ensuring that guests do not resort to nibbling on the furniture out of hunger. Perhaps, you would need diligent servers to guarantee that each is delivered promptly and flawlessly to the tables of every guest. Perhaps…? Let us delve into the art of meticulous planning and coordination to craft the perfect banquet experience!

 

6) RBE002—Exploring Intelligent Robotics

  • Theme: History and Future of Robotics
  • Date and Time: 2pm to 3pm, 5 September
  • Location: FB251, Foundation Building, North Campus
  • Are you ready to explore the world of robots with us? We’ll spend the first half-hour introducing the history of robotics, taking you through the past and present of robots. In the second half-hour, we’ll dive into the latest scientific research and technological advancements, introducing you to robots that are becoming increasingly interesting, decisive, and intelligent. Do you believe that monkeys, ostriches, and octopuses might also influence the future of robotics? Come join us and find out!

7) IOT001—Fundamentals of Internet of Things

  • Date & Time: 3pm to 4pm, 5 September
  • Location: FB251, Foundation Building, North Campus
  • Step into the world of the Internet of Things (IoT) and fully understand the core power of this transformative technology! Here, you will delve into the core themes of IoT, mastering its wide range of application scenarios. Through this learning journey, you will not only lay a solid foundation of IoT knowledge but also explore the interests of future development directions.

 

8) MES001—Journey of CHIPS Exploration

  • Date & Time: 4pm to 5pm, 5 September
  • Location: FB251, Foundation Building, North Campus
  • This taster class will be delivered by the Dean of the School of CHIPS, and consists of the following topics: Semiconductor, transistor, chip, computer, mobile phone, automobile and aircraft, employment and innovation.

 

3.2024-2025 XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) Open Day

  • Time: 9:30am – 4:30pm, 8 September
  • Venue: XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang)
  • Participants: Y1 XJTLU students

The XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) Open Day is one of the must-attend events for all Y1 students! Through a variety of experiences such as campus visits, course experiences, and club activities, you can experience the unique innovative culture, vibrant campus life, and project-based teaching mode of XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) that is in line with cutting-edge technology and industry practices. There are also opportunities to communicate face-to-face with professors and seniors, listen to their learning and life experiences, and gain valuable advice and experience. In just one day, you can quickly immerse yourselves in Syntegrative Education culture and campus atmosphere.

The theme of this event is the Summer Colorful Adventure. The campus, featuring a 1.8-kilometer circle and 7 horseshoe-shaped buildings, attracts young elites from all over the world.  Join us! Create a colorful summer gathering together!

 

4.Frontiers of Innovation: Everything Above and Beyond

  • Theme: Innovation in Automotive Industry – Technology, Supply Chain, and New Trends
  • Date & Time: 11 September 2024, PM

  • China is the world's largest automotive consumer market. With the rapid development of new energy vehicles, the automotive revolution in electrification, is being carried out vigorously. Innovations in the automotive industry have the potential to rewrite and reconstruct many industries. This event, by creating a guidemap of the automotive industry, invites industry experts (Director of Community Marketing at NIO, Senior Procurement Manager at Schaeffler) and academic experts to introduce and analyses the innovations in the automotive industry, and to share insights on technological innovation, product innovation, supply chain innovation, and future new trends in the automotive industry. The aim is to spark students interested in this industry to understand the cutting-edge technology, grasp the future development trends of the industry, stimulate innovative thinking, cultivate a forward-looking perspective, establish industry contacts, and make full preparations for future career development.

5.Bootcamp

  • Theme: Robot Design, Manufacturing, and Industry Trends
  • Date & Time: 18 September 2024, Full Day

  • The development of the robotics industry has entered the fast lane. With the leadership of leading enterprises in the Yangtze River Delta region and the formation of industrial clusters, the development of the robotics industry value chain has achieved remarkable results. Positive progress has been made in areas such as manufacturing, technological innovation, and scenario innovation. This event invites Ms. Liqiong Chen from the leading robot enterprise Ecovacs (Head of Ecovacs Technology Museum and Director of Academic Affairs), and Assistant Professor Dr. Chenguang Liu from XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) School of Robotics. They will explain and introduce the robotics design and manufacturing, the future development trends of robotics and AI, as well as guiding students to get hands-on experience of assembling drones. This will allow students to have a preliminary understanding of robotics technology and application scenarios, understand the future development trends of the industry, stimulate creativity, innovation, and creation in this field, and prepare for future career development.
