International Conference on Smart Grid Technology and Data Processing

International Conference on Smart Grid Technology and Data Processing: smart urban resource and its breakthrough in technology and management

28 FEB – 1 MAR 2019 XJTLU, Suzhou, China

SGTDP: Urban Resource and its breakthrough in technology and management is to be held in XJTLU on 28th FEB – 1st MAR 2019. The Centre for Smart Grid and Information Convergence (CeSGIC) of XJTLU has previously held three international workshops in June 2015, March 2016, and February 2017. Building from the foundation of the past conference experience, this fourth international conference in its series is to facilitate interdisciplinary debates on urban resources (energy and water) by integrating engineering and management perspectives together by co-organized with the Research Institute for Future Cities (RIFC) of XJTLU.

The conference theme “Smart Urban Resource” continues to receive increasing interest due to the need for improvement in the sustainable usage of natural resources. The two pillars of urban resource, energy and water, attract significant global interest from academia, industry and government, due to the increasing complexity in the nature of urban resource optimization and management. There is widespread acknowledgement that contemporary issues on urban resource require a transformation of traditional compartmentalized working practices and the engagement of a wider range of disciplines including those that were not directly involved in traditional research. Great emphasis of the conference will be laid on the importance of collaboration for the systematic delivery of urban resource for their reliability, flexibility, efficiency, accountability and feasibility. The conference will explore both possible technology solutions and business management approaches to tackle the emerging issues of urban resource, particularly on energy and water.
