TED

TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design – the core focus areas when it was first founded. Over time, its scope has expanded to encompass broader topics such as science, culture, and society. After more than four decades of development, TED has evolved into a global ideas-sharing network transcending geographical boundaries, professional fields, and age groups. With cumulative video views exceeding 1 billion, it has become a pivotal plat-form for the dissemination of ideas.

In 2009, to foster closer ties between TED and local communities, TED launched the TEDx program-a localized, community-driven initiative organized by enthusiasts. At TEDx events, the combination of curated TED talk videos and live local speakers sparks deeper discussions and stronger connections within groups, thereby better serving the community that the “x” represents.

TEDxXJTLU

TEDxXJTLU, officially licensed by TED, is a non-profit initiative of XJTLU Museum. Since 2019, it has grown into an annual intellectual feast gathering diverse ideas and interdisciplinary insights. Rooted in TED’s “Ideas Worth Spreading” and our mission to “disseminate valuable ideas and drive their implementation”, the event builds a cross-campus and cross-industry platform. Highlighting XJTLU’s international education strengths and open perspectives, it inspires students, faculty and global audiences to spark action through idea exchanges.
