IBSS's reputation as a leading business school has been further demonstrated with an official accreditation from CPA Australia.

CPA Australia is one of the world's largest accounting bodies with a global membership of more than 150,000 members working in 120 countries around the world, with more than 25,000 members working in senior leadership positions.

The CPA Australia accreditation follows those of CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales).

An accreditation ceremony was held on 11 November 2015 at IBSS. Professor Sarah Dixon, Dean of IBSS, Ron Woolley, Accreditation Consultant at CPA Australia, and Frances Gong, Senior Business Development Manager, East & Central China CPA Australia, gave speeches and endorsed the collaboration.

"The collaboration between IBSS and CPA further demonstrates the international reputation of IBSS. We are very proud to be accredited by CPA Australia. We look forward to strong collaborations in the future," said Professor Sarah Dixon.

Frances Gong spoke about how IBSS students will benefit from student engagement activities organised by the CPA Australia Shanghai office, including company visits, career-sharing sessions with senior members and networking events. CPA Australia will also deliver internship and graduate opportunities to students via student network newsletters.

"IBSS students from accredited degrees will have exemption of CPA Australia foundation exam (six papers) and will be eligible to become an associate member (ASA) upon graduation and receive an ASA certificate. They can then start the CPA Program (final six papers) and when they have three years accounting and finance experience will advance to the premiere designation of CPA Australia, recognised globally," she explained.

"This is a great opportunity for both IBSS and CPA to focus on the needs and interests of students. This is a truly an international relationship combining students graduating from internationally-focused academic degrees with an international-focused professional accounting organisation," added Mr Woolley.

This accreditation is further proof that IBSS' accounting programmes are on a par with the world's leading accounting bodies. The accreditation will help IBSS students be more competitive in their future careers.
