More than 2000 prospective students and parents visited Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University’s campus on April 14 for the University’s annual Open Day.
The event gave future students the chance to talk face-to-face with researchers, students and alumni from University community, and to see firsthand what life at XJTLU is like.
Professor Youmin Xi, executive president of XJTLU, welcomed the visitors to the campus, providing them with an overview of the University and the type of graduates it produces.
“Our aim is to transform students into innovative thinkers who can bring value to society and compete on the international stage,” he said.
“This year, the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) will admit students for the first time, and we plan to establish six new disciplines including Data Science and Big Data Technology, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain Innovation and Application, Intelligent Robotics Engineering, and Internet of Things Engineering Technology and Entertainment.
“Using the new Syntegrative Education model, XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) gives students the right tools and insights to thrive in the era of artificial intelligence and robotics so they can go on to become leaders in the industries of the future."
From demo classes and art displays, to student club performances and alumni storytelling, the Open Day event gave visitors the chance to be immersed in campus life and get a taste of what XJTLU has to offer.
The event was supported by staff, students and alumni from across the University who were on hand to answer questions and offer advice and guidance to students considering studying at XJTLU.
