Watch above: Students had the chance to learn about the use of bamboo in manufacturing as part of a collaborative workshop organised by MOSO, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and Hague University (The Netherlands). The workshop examined pre-existing conceptions of bamboo products and explored new opportunities for bamboo in design and manufacturing.
The students, both Dutch and Chinese, learnt about large-scale manufacturing of bamboo, as well as Chinese traditional handicrafts. The goal of the workshop was to create fresh ideas for the industry through a cross-border and cross-academic design workshop, bringing students from architecture and industrial design together.
