Starting from the autumn semester of 2021, XJTLU officially starts teaching exam exemption courses as an IFoA exam exemption accredited university. This indicates that undergraduate and master's students who study relevant exam exemption courses at XJTLU and meet the requirements of the relevant exempted subjects will be eligible for IFoA exemption accreditation upon graduation.
By providing funding for exam exemption fees and initial annual membership fees, CSEA scholarships and bursaries encourage students to continue their studies to achieve the IFoA actuarial professional qualification.
Dr Xiaojun Zhu, the IFoA accreditation liaison from the School of Mathematics and Physics at XJTLU, said, "The CSEA scholarships and bursaries from the IFoA Foundation are provided to motivate students to pursue further studies in the actuarial field. On the other hand, we are looking forward to working with IFoA to train more students to become talents in the actuarial profession."
Founded in 1848, IFoA is the UK's only chartered non-profit professional body dedicated to educating, developing and regulating actuaries based both in the UK and internationally. XJTLU was awarded accreditation by IFoA in May 2021 and is one of only eight universities in China to be accredited by the prestigious Institute.
