【Event Review】Nibble: A bite-sized Exhibition of Transdisciplinary Arts

On December 15th, 2023,the School of Cultural Technology hosted a great interdisciplinary art exhibition NiBBLE: A Bite-sized Exhibition of Transdisciplinary Arts by ATE. This is a captivating event that brings together a diverse range of creative practices, showcasing the innovative intersection of AI, Healthcare, Installation Art, and Speculative Design.

While the exhibition attracted many teachers and students, we were also honored to have Professor Youmin Xi, Executive President of Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University visit the exhibition in Building G.

This unique exhibition features a collection of thought-provoking exhibits that explore the potential future of design and technology. Visitors will be immersed in an interactive experience where contemporary technologies such as Arduino, Augmented Reality, and projection mapping are utilized to push the boundaries of artistic expression. From immersive installations to speculative design prototypes, this exhibition offers a glimpse into the exciting possibilities that emerge from the fusion of creativity and technology, inviting visitors to contemplate the future of our society and its intersection with design.


This exhibition is a showcase of work developed by students from the BA Arts, Technology, and Entertainment with Contemporary Entrepreneurialism at XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang), Suzhou, China. It is a total of 23 surprising pieces of work ranging from immersive installations to speculative design. The exhibition was supervised by Professor Andrew O'Dowd and Professor Zhonghao Chen from the School of Cultural Technology, and we were honored to invite our industry partners Jingtiancheng (Suzhou) Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd. and Modern Art Museum Shanghai to participate in the jurying of the works.

 

This exhibition also provided a enrich catering, which was well received by the students.
