The "Qinglan Project Excellent Young Scholar" is an important talent cultivation initiative implemented by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education. It aims to promote the strategy of rejuvenating the province through science and education and strengthening the province with talent. The project focuses on enhancing the construction of teaching staff, cultivating key teachers and academic leaders, and particularly emphasises the selection and training of outstanding and top-notch talents and academic leaders in higher education institutions.
A total of 500 excellent young scholar for the "Qinglan Project" in Jiangsu universities in 2024 were selected, including three from Xi 'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and two from International Business School Suzhou at XJTLU. Dr. Wangwang Shuai from the Department of Intelligent Operations and Marketing and Dr. Huijun Shen from the Department of Strategic Management and Organisation were awarded the "excellent young scholar”. This honor is a recognition of their outstanding achievements in teaching, scientific research and academic services, and also an acknowledgement of IBSS's efforts to continuously promote cutting-edge research and cultivate the next generation of outstanding young scholars.
Dr. Wangshuai Wang is an Associate Professor of Marketing in the International Business School Suzhou at XJTLU. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2018. Prior to joining XJTLU, he was an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. His research interests are in the area of consumer psychology, with a special focus on compensatory consumption.
Dr. Wangshuai Wang
Dr.Huijun Shen received her Bachelor’s degree from Huazhong University of Technology and Science(HUST) in 2014 and her Ph.D. from Zhejiang University(ZJU) in 2020. She visited the Technical University of Munich(TUM) for half a year in 2013 and the National University of Singapore(NUS) for one year in 2018 as an exchange student. She has published 12 papers in international journals and reputable Chinese journals including Research Policy (FT 50; ABS 4+; IF:9.473; first author), Technovation(ABS 3; IF:11.373), Technological Forecasting Social Change (ABS 3; JCR Q1; IF:10.884), Industry and Innovation (ABS 3; IF:3.819); Renewable Sustainable Energy Reviews (JCR Q1; IF:14.982) and Cities (ABS 2; JCR Q1; IF:6.077), NSFC A class and B class Chinese journals. She is the principal investigator of research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC), the Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province and the Social Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province. She is also the co-investigator of five projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Foundation of China and the China Intellectual Property Administration.

As excellent young scholar, Dr. Wangshuai Wang and Dr. Huijun Shen will continue to contribute their strength to the teaching and research cause of the school, and make unremitting efforts to train more outstanding business management talents.
