Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University has recently obtained membership from World Design Organisation (WDO), an international non-governmental organisation that promotes the discipline of industrial design for a better environment and society.
Since its establishment in 1957, WDO has grown to include over 180 member organisations from 40 nations, engaging them in collaborative efforts and providing them with the opportunity to be heard internationally.
The membership allows XJTLU to connect with fellow WDO members both in China and around the globe.
Professor Marc Aurel Schnabel, Dean of XJTLU Design School, says: “Now as a WDO member, we have the opportunity to engage and collaborate with design organisations from a range of different pillars.
“By being present on WDO’s newsletter and social media channels, we have the opportunity to be more visible within their network.
“We can benefit from the exclusive events organised by WDO and a broad base of design related knowledge and news. It will also be particularly valuable for students preparing to enter the professional world.”
