Delegation from Rastriya Swatantra Party of Nepal Visited XJTLU School of Humanities and Social Sciences

A delegation from the Rastriya Swatantra Party of Nepal visited the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) on September 25, 2024.

The delegation, consisting of 14 members, included Dr Swarnim Wagle, Vice-Chair of the Rastriya Swatantra Party of Nepal and former World Bank Economic Policy Expert, and Shisir Khanal, Head of the Party’s External Relations Department. They were accompanied by representatives from the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, including Director of Bureau One, Chang Jiuqing, Deputy Director, Zheng Youya, and Chief Section Officer, Chen Yongpei, as well as staff from the Foreign Affairs Offices of Jiangsu Province, Suzhou City, and the Suzhou Industrial Park.

The delegation was given a tour of the XJTLU campus, accompanied by faculty and students from the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) and the International Business School (IBSS). Following the tour, the two sides held a meeting to exchange ideas. During the meeting, Professor Zhang Xiaoling, Head of the Department of Media and Communication at HSS; Dr Nimesh Salike, Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching at IBSS; Dr Kuang Xianwen, Dr Dharma Adhikari, Associate Professors in the Department of Media and Communication; and Assistant Professors Dr Simon Schweighofer and Dr Dikshya Karki, all presented on the distinctive features of XJTLU, HSS, and IBSS, as well as the career prospects of their graduates. Both parties also discussed topics such as the development of new media in China and collaboration between universities and the government. Three student representatives from the Department of Media and Communication, Heyang Hu, Ji Hua, and Yuhan Xia, also attended the meeting.
