Introduction to AIAC Student Societies and Organisations

11 Sep 2024

As the new semester commences and students are back to the campus, are you filled with anticipation for the upcoming campus life? To enrich student’s extracurricular activities, the School of AI and Advanced Computing actively encourages and supports the establishment of various student societies and organisations, and has specifically implemented a dual guidance system. Our school has appointed professional and experienced staff advisors and industry mentors for each student society and organisation, ensuring comprehensive support and guidance for students in their autonomous management and event planning. Currently, the school supports four distinctive student societies and organisations: the Generative AI Organisation, Collaborative Explorers' Learning Network (CELN), GMaster Robot Club (TC) and Linux Makes your Life Easier (LEC)-TC. In this article, we will introduce these societies and organisations in alphabetical order. We welcome the active attention and participation of all students and staff.

Artificial Intelligence Generative Content Organisaiton (AIGC)

The AIGC Community is dedicated to creating a platform for members passionate about generative AI technology to communicate and grow. Our core objective is to provide a wealth of AIGC-related competition and industry resources to help members enhance their practical skills and broaden their industry perspective.

The community regularly publishes information on AIGC-related competitions, such as ACM-ICPC and CVPR, and collaborates with leading companies such as iFlytek, ByteDance, Inspur, and DeepBlue Technology. Through competitions and corporate partnership projects, community members have the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge technology, participate in real-world projects, and deepen their understanding of generative AI technology.

Collaborative Explorers' Learning Network (CELN)

CELN aims to establish a supportive academic community that fosters collective progress through group learning. The society is committed to creating a collaborative learning environment that makes studying accessible and engaging. We bridge knowledge and learners by compiling and publishing course notes on our website. Our goal is to expand the CELN across all schools of the Taicang campus, creating a comprehensive platform that combines academic excellence with peer support.

GMaster Robot Club (TC)

The GMaster Robot Club (Taicang) is an independent society of the XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang). As the third branch under the GMaster IP, this society aims to create a platform for robot enthusiasts to communicate and research, serving as a hub for creative and passionate young individuals. Join us to share experiences with like-minded peers and enhance your comprehensive application and engineering practical skills in science and technology. The GMaster Robot Club (Taicang) leverages the strengths of the Intelligent Robotics Engineering and Data Science and Big Data programmes at the Taicang campus, collaborates deeply with the school, and partners with the GMaster Robot Club and GMaster team at the SIP campus to integrate resources and achieve mutual success.

Linux Makes your Life Easier (LEC)-TC (LEC)

LEC focuses on driving innovative applications of data science and big data technologies through Linux. The society offers comprehensive technical training, ranging from basic Linux commands to Jetson Nano, LaTeX, as well as machine learning and deep learning, aiming to enhance the practical skills of every member. Regarding the competitions, LEC members have also achieved awards, including a national third-place prize in the "Citi Cup" AI Challenge. Moreover, members actively participate in scientific research and have published multiple academic papers.

Whether you are a Linux beginner or an experienced user, the LEC welcomes you. Let's explore the mysteries of Linux together, continuously advance, and create a new chapter in technology!
