Algorave originated in the UK and today is an emerging platform for experimental music and visual media. It is a form of music performance paradigm in the field of EDM and Experimental Arts. This is an international community formed by artists who work in the field of audio and visual arts using programming as their performance tool. Live coding engines and visual engines for real-time processing of videos and data interactions between sound and visuals.

The impact of Algorave
This event is part of the Algorave movement, which although it has not yet been widely known in China, acts as a primer for community building both locally and at an international level. This series of events aims to strengthen the impact on the local public cultural scene and at the same time be part of the greater Algorave movement and international conglomerate of pioneering music and digital arts.
It’s worth mentioning that, together with students of XJTLU including student Andy (Honyu Andy Shing) from the School of Advanced Technologies, Dr. Konstantinos Vasilakos has joined up the Algorave Shanghai branches. With the International Conference of Live Coding (ICLC 2024) later this year in Shanghai, the group and members of this local Algorave members humbly aim to make the mark and promote the emerging local Algorave community in the international audience participating in the conference.
