DES Intelligent Built Environment (IBE) Research Centre was established in May 2024, evolving from the former Automation in Construction Engineering and Management (ACEM) Lab in the Department of Civil Engineering. The centre focuses on designing, developing and implementing intelligent concept, knowledge and technologies in the domains including but not limited to Building energy performance, Smart buildings and cities, Autonomous construction equipment, Historical building protection, and Total sustainability.
