Director’s Message

A warm welcome to The Innovation Factory, a place where ideas meet reality. Innovation Factory being a platform and springboard at the college level is there to support your innovative ideas to be turned to real technological products, prototypes and solutions, through technology innovation and with the support from academic experts, industry mentors and state-of-the-art lab resources and facilities. I feel proud to present an environment of collaboration and co-creation, a place where ideas can be exchanged and shared freely to strengthen and accelerate the innovation process, a place where staff, students and industry partners can work together, and a place where products of the future can be developed with creativity and with the use of new and emerging as well as time-tested technologies, while getting a strong support from our proud to present academic and industrial mentors. Innovation is about passion, dedication, curiosity and enthusiasm to develop something different and new to benefit ourselves, our peers, our academic community, our industry or even a wider community. It however is only possible through a proper guidance and support, availability of the right tools and resources, by getting proper training and mentorship, and, relevant opportunities to showcase them for the wider community. I see it as a fantastic opportunity for our students to foster their creative and innovative minds, and go beyond the traditional boundaries of teaching and learning to try something new. Whether it is your passion to innovate through technology or your enthusiasm and courage to go beyond innovation to become technopreneurs of the future through startups, IF is there at every step of your journey to support you. At the same time, I feel proud to create a platform to service our staff and industry to develop collaborations and partnerships, as well as, getting opportunities and all the help they can to benefit from our resources and facilities to develop something real to fuel our economy, create more jobs and build better products of the future, while working together. We see ourselves as the creator of an eco-system where students, staff, industry and government can work together to address societal challenges through technological innovation, research and development. I feel proud to break the traditional boundaries and welcome you all to join me, together we can create a better future.
